First Ever Karting Africa Show Run
Karting Africa in partnership with the FADM is hosting the First Ever Karting Africa Show Run in Benguela, Angola from the 10th of October to the 11th of October. The Academy race features over 30 drivers from 13 countries from across the continent.
The event will be attended by FIA representatives from a majority of the registered African countries including Angola, Botswana, Zambia and more.

Karting Africa Botswana
Botswana Motorsport, in collaboration with WORR Motorsport, officially launched the Karting Africa Academy on 30 May 2026 in Lobatse, Botswana. The milestone event attracted 40 participants, with the youngest aspiring karters aged just six years old racing on 2 stroke karts, a clear indication of the growing appetite for structured motorsport development among Botswana’s youth.
A centrepiece of the launch was the unveiling of the new Karting Africa Academy kart chassis, purpose built for the Academy program by WORR Motorsport. Botswana Motorsport was honored to become the first national sporting authority on the African continent to officially launch and introduce the chassis, a distinction that underscores the country’s ambition to lead continental motorsport development.
To deliver the event, Botswana Motorsport partnered with its affiliate, Cyro Motorsport Group and leisure Karting Company, The Freak Show Racing, ensuring a well coordinated and engaging experience for participants and spectators alike.
The launch received strong institutional recognition, with attendance from several distinguished guests including representatives from the Botswana National Sport Commission, the Mayor of Lobatse, the District Commissioner, the Member of Parliament for the constituency, and representatives of the Botswana Police Service. Their presence reflects broad governmental and civic support for the development of motorsport in Botswana.
The Karting Africa Academy represents a significant step forward in grassroots motorsport, creating a structured pathway for young drivers to access competitive karting and build towards future opportunities within the sport. This launch positions Botswana at the forefront of youth motorsport development across the region.

Africa’s motorsport future depends on the people behind the scenes as much as those on the track. Karting Africa Network is the official talent network created by WORR motorsport to identify, develop and connect skilled individuals with opportunities across the African motorsport landscape.
As the Karting Africa Initiative continues to expand through partnerships with national federations, clubs and FIA- supported programmes, there is an increasing need for trained pesoneel to support events, driver development, technical operations and grassroots initiatives throughout the continent.

Vision 27
Karting Africa
Karting Africa is a Worr Motorsport initiative to promote Grassroots development in the African Continent. The Vision is to advance cohesive development on the African continent through fair, competitive competition laying the ground work for affordable advancement to single seaters.
Vision 27
Vision 27 is for a Cross Continent Academy Race series using one chassis, one engine in 2027. The Academy Race invites Federations to identify up to 5 drivers in Junior and Senior divisions to participate in 6 rounds of racing across 6 countries. The series follows an arrive and drive format with host ASN’s providing the karts and engines.
Formula Africa
Beyond the karting, Wesleigh Orr believes “Africa should have its own series that brings pride and prestige to kids in motorsports. America has Indi, NASCAR, Europe has too many to count along with Asia but Africa is limited. Why? Is it not time for Africa to have its own?” Formula Africa is a long term vision to bring Motorsport development in Africa to the global stage as not just an after thought but a stand alone, competitive series that rivals the highest forms of motorsport.
